Spoken in a soft sultry voice (think Kathleen Turner)
Accepting the award is “the Tank”
“I would first like to thank PSAS for presenting me with this award. I would also like to thank Eric and Becca for nominating me and for all those who have supported me in this endeavor. It is such an honor to receive this award. It has been my life’s dream to someday be “Tank of the Month”. I never imagined that in such a short length of time that I would become Tank of the Month. I can remember sitting in the local fish store destined to be a fresh water tank. Then Eric and Becca made that fateful purchase March 2010. It wasn’t until they made a stand purchase from Todd (TJL) that my true destiny was realized. I remember how friendly Todd and Mike (herefishyfishy) were, the cornucopia of knowledge that they imparted onto Eric and Becca. Several months later and a few algae blooms went by before I began amassing a collection of corals. We always remember our first; it was a small frag of Orange Zoa’s acquired from Todd and a small cabbage coral from Mike. Through the course of a year and a half I have had a few ups and downs. All can be seen on Reef Frontiers, as Eric and Becca are keen to post my foibles. Of course, being just another pretty tank alone didn’t make this possible. I wouldn’t be getting this recognition without so many people. First and foremost I would like to thank the good Lord above in directing Eric and Becca to the local fish store, Eric and Becca for always being there for me and encouraging me to be my best, Charrise (luisse25) for being so darn close and having marvelous Zoa’s , Cherry Corals for speedy shipping and incredible corals, Google for answering some pretty ridiculous questions, Reef Frontiers for the wonderful contacts, and Adam(myteemouse) and Crystal (crystalclear125) for helping with the technical issues with the camera and hosting fun bbq’s, and my fans who have made this moment possible. I couldn’t have done it without you. Oh they are shining that light in my direction, I must wrap this up. I am so pleased and honored to win the auspicious Tank of the Month award. Thank you again!”
For those who want the tank stats:
“I am 16 months young, I host a mixed reef, and my measurements are 36” by 15” by 30” (I know sexy, right?). My SWC mini S cone skimmer, a carbon and GFO reactor clean my water. I employ a refugium that is home to several macro algae and teaming with pods. Currently my refugium is also the nursery to a cardinal fish (multi-tasking, love it). I demand monthly water changes and keep my calcium and alkalinity up by dosing daily. The lights that keep me looking so sensational are 4 T-5 bulbs ( two ATI blue plus, one ATI blue special, and one KZ Fiji purple) powered by ice caps and each with their own reflector. “
