So took advantage of the black friday sales and picked up an ozone setup. I was planning on plumbing the output from the ozone reactor to my carbon reactor and then into my refugium or my skimmer input. Thoughts?

It will be more effective if you run it into your skimmer either by the intake or an airstone. After it has done its job in the skimmer then you use carbon to neutralize any excess.

glweek,

read these article..

Ozone and the Reef Aquarium, Part 3: Changes in a Reef Aquarium upon Initiating Ozone by Randy Holmes-Farley

basically it is adding an extra oxygen atom which attaches to any organic in the tank...
since too much ozone can be deadly to fish AND humans, it is only to be use by experience reefs AND with a ORP probe.

Picked up an orp probe from the Neptune sale.

So i think my setup will be bio pellet reactor to ozone reactor to carbon reactor to skimmer to refugium.

just keep in mind the acrylic on your equipment needs to be thick enough to support the ozone as over time it can erode the acrylic...

I would not go thru the biopellet reactor first as you want the ventri line of skimmer or air stone to break down the ozone first...going thru a biopellet reactor first i dont see that happening...also does your ozone unit have an air pump built in?

Picked up an avast marine ozone reactor and running the air line through a luft pump, air dryer, Corona ozone maker and then the reactor. Not sure why i need the skimmer to break down the ozone since im relying on the carbon reactor to remove the o3.

I wonder if i should put the ozone reactor first and then carbon, bio pellets and then skimmer.

Thoughts being allow the bacteria in the bio pellets eat the organics breaking down from the o3 and skimmer to pull out the crud

Didn't know you were you were doing all of that on the front end.should be fine but I would have carbon be last in line as long as u r dumping water back into sump for skimmer to do its job
