ladies and gents,,,,we are experiencing tech difficulties..please bare with us and it will all be over in a minute.:)

ronj check out the skimmers on this site. http://octopusskimmer.com/ They are very low in price and are getting execellent reviews. There are a few different sites that carry them so shop around and you can probably find free shipping.

From what I have read on other boards they are fine skimmers for the cost. All the posts I read seem positive. I may by one too. Heck at that price, why not.

If you look at the pics on that page there are two kinds. the ones look cheap but there are the better ones. the same as the octopus ones that are made out of cast tubing.

yeah, what brad said....
the octopus needle wheel/recircs are cheap and pretty good from what i've read off RC, never seen one live. those older pacific coast skimmers first mentioned are crap!!!

those old ones are an "ebay special" as I like to call them. the red caps. I am sure they are just selling them out. The new line they picked up is the same as the octopus. octopus is the marketing name that coralvue put on them. they are made in china and distributed here by two companies. pacific coast imports and coralvue.

these skimmers are still only being carried by a few places. I hear they have inventory problems at times getting them. you cant even really google them.

if i but the octopus skimmer, will i be constantly adjusting it for the water level in the sump?????
