Yes the shelf has been there. I did think of that and I would have got on my ladder and layed some chang on the shelf. Don't know why I would have done that but at this point anything is possible. I have a hard time thinking, who, why, how and did I do some sleep walking one night. Thanks for your wordsWow Tracy. Glad you found it before something bad happened. As for where it came from... I have found all manner of things throughout my house in places they don't belong... including loose change. Crazier things have happened you know.
Was the shelf above the tank in use before the tank was installed?
It's hard to tell from your pictures, but what is on the shelving unit above your tank?
Could some spare change been left up there long, long ago and gotten pushed to the back of the shelf one day, causing it to fall of the back of the shelf and into the tank?
I just cringe to think that someone would involve themselves in a hateful act like this on purpose. That's about as comical as adding sugar to someones gas tank. I hope your test for copper turns out well.
Thanks charlie. That true they are junk. It looks like all is well as far as live stock clams, etc. Never thought I would say this but thank god for pest nems or I would have never found it.What a crappy way to start your day. Have you noticed any of your critters showing ill effects? The reason I ask is because most of the copper tests I have used are a piece of garbage. I would save some money, and just watch your tank closely. Chances are it had been in there for a while, and if nothing was showing ill effects before...................................
Good luck still!!!!
That is a really rotten thing to do to somebody!!!!!
Thank you susie for you offer thats nice of you. I think Ill just keep up with my routine water chang, carbon etc. Live stock has no ill efect as far as I can tell. Thanks againI have a Salifert Copper Test Kit if you want to borrow it. It is expired, but I think I only opened it once, so I'm guessing it should most likely be ok and at least ease your mind. I'm in Puyallup, just across Wildwood Park from Vicki's.

Ya trido thats a fact. I think a metal detector is in order LOL. Good to see ya the other night had a blast.Sorry to hear about the whole event. Sure makes you wonder.................
You got that right mike. I think it would be best if I not say it was a fellow reefer and just say look what I did by accident and glad I found it.Tracy, me thinks it fell from your pocket while leaning over the overflow at some time in the near past. Outside of when you donated the 75 frags, rarely have anyone over but friends or buyers. If sombody wanted to create harm, they would have done something worse.
I second that and I don't know for sure if someone did, if I did it or it was a accident. Never know but the second thing that pops into my head is a fellow reefer. The first is could I have done it and how.Wow amazing! I can't beleive anyone would hate like that!
LOL. All I can say is if a fellow reefer did it I think I got his last cent. Yahoo. Its not going to chang how I do things all is welcome at my place. Thats not what I was taught and thats not way i am.Sorry to hear that Tracy! Looks like you will have to raise the price of your frags to cover the cost of some security when people come over. All joking aside, that was a very uncool move. And if it was maliciously put in there, all i have to say is that karma is a B****!
Thank you. Its something that happened and there is nothing I can do about it. Someone may have done it and may not have. I will never know. Thank god all is doing fine.*boggle*
What the heck is wrong with people?!?! Sorrry to hear that salmon =\ Theres bad apples sometimes, but 99.9% of people greatly appreciate a fellow reefers generosity. Good luck.
Thank you jan. I will look into that. By the way I got a good laugh at what you posted and thought you read.Tracy, maybe buy some of that stuff called "Polyfilter" which is supposed to absorb stuff like heavy metals etc. out of your tank but also it changes color depending on what it is absorbing. I think if there's copper in your tank, the polyfilter turns blue. I have some up at my place in Lynnwood...got it from MarineDepot I think. If anyone from the south end is planning to be in my neighborhood and wants to bring it to you, you can have it.
Mike: Me thinks you can't be told a secret. You NARK-ied-on-himI can't bear to carry the guilt and shame any longer so must confess:

Steven did it!:badgrin::lol::lol:
Thank you. All is welcome here. If someone was to wipe out my tank I be upset for a few. I would not chang a thing as far as how I carry my self. That REALLY sucks! I can understand your venting. I too would start to think twice about visitors if that happened to me. I am happy to hear you didn't suffer any loses.
I keep telling my self a fellow reefer would'nt do such a thing. I could see if it was a dime, nickel, donut, a bottle of jack, spark plug, a screw, a nail, etc but a penny .Hmm, that sux that you found a penny in the overflow. And i can understand why you would think it was a deliberate act. But logically thinking this sounds more like a random act of wishing. Somebody must have been admiring your tank when you were not there and made a wish. It just bounced and ended up there in the overflow. Do you have kid? maybe had a party or guests over with kids? Even people who don't know about copper and aquariums at a party who wandered into the tank room could have done it. I would hate to think a reefer did that as a malicious act. I hope you come to the bottom of this and how it got there. It would freak me if i found something like that.
.It is assuredly from Tracy's pocket. Can you imagine while Tracy is in the house, to brazenly climb boxes or a ladder reaching up bending over the VERY HOT 400 Watt lights, then behind the tank just to get one penny in the overflows? If some psycho wanted to do harm he would intentionally put RB in there...:lol: (What kind of sicko thinks this stuff up?)
