Something I wanted to share with you guys.

Today, I decided to add 3 small pieces of rock to my tank. It use to be LR from my old set up that I let dry out since February to get rid of all of the junk in it. Before putting it into my tank, I rinsed it off thoroughly and scrubbed over it with a toothbrush just to get off anything that might be on the surface. As most of you know, I don't have any fish in my tank yet so there isn't any bio-load in there. Below are 3 pictures showing (1) The 3 pieces of rock I added (2) My skimmer just before adding the rock and (3) The skimmer after 10 minutes of adding the rock. It's amazing! If I give it about 20 more minutes or so I'd get some junk in my collection cup from the rock. And just for the record, I removed the excess water from the sump so that the water level would be the same before and after adding the rock.

Thanks Clay. I'm just excited that it work as quickly as it does. It should work out real good when I add some fish load!

LOL - when my rock was curing, I used to sit and watch my skimmer do its thing. Clayton's right - its funny that site of foam gets us excited! The rock looks great!

LOL!!! you know Nikki it's true, for some reason i'm always checking my foam and drooling about it :p.
i gotta say that it looks kewl dood krish and you know i love your tank dam it !! :D

Thanks guys. I'm not use to foam or bubbles (LOL) My last skimmer would have been better off as a air pump (LOL).

Nice tank. I like that back wall.

LOL....I swear it wasn't me. Yes that's a 12-1 with a few mods. I took off the Sedra 5000's and put 9000's on it drilled out the venturis and use some larger ID hose. Seems to work well.

Seems to work well.
Ya think! I love those skimmers as well as the ASM's. I was going to buy one, but didn't have the space. However, I'm really happy with my Aqua C and can't wait to see how it reacts to some real load.

LOL!!! Always thinking about the toilet eh Krish, we understand you dood
LOL..What can I say...I should have been a plumber!

Don't make me post a pic of my waiste collector full of over a gallon of IAP skimmer funk!
