Photos under 20K XM's

Well, it seems like I finally got some good shots of the tank with the right white balance setting. It just took a few changes in the camera's settings, so now I know what to do. Here is as close as it gets to the actual tank and these are taken under (2) dual 250 20K XM bulbs. I think I love the color

i like the color of the 20k's.....they are not nearly as blue as I thought they would be.

Yeah...They were pretty blue when I first got them, but I guess they are starting to break in and is sort lightening up. Color looks really nice in person

Thanks Dylan! I had to set it to the "white balance preset setting" which you focus the camera and shoot it and then the camera measures it up and gives you the best color match of the original. It is sort of like auto white balance, but the auto white balance doesn't get as accurate as the preset does on my camera. It takes a few tries though with measuring up the photos to get it right because I can have the camera in the same position without changing anything and some will measure up the picture making it come out redish, sometimes darker etc. but atleast it shows you the picture of how they will all come out with that setting before you actually waste all your time with taking 50 photos off color!

Yeah, I figure that's how you did it. =) Just curious as to what the Kelvin rating of the resulting white balance was. It might be useful for other people trying to take pictures under 20k light.
