Just a simple question, will a pistol shrimp survive with out a goby for it's buddy? He lost his goby partner about a week ago, and I haven't seen much of him since then.

By the way its your fault i fell for these guy's back in 04
If you get any I expect pictures, My best luck in getting the gobies to pair up with the shrimp is at night just after the lights go off..

Larger sand shifting Goby

From what I have read and learned with raising my pistol shrimps is stay with the Stonogobiops species: Like the Black ray or yasha or the smaller gobies for the Randel shrimps and if you tend to have the larger pistols shrimp species step up to the larger Cryptocentrus species: or the Amblyeleotris species.
The larger the gobie the more aggresive of protecting its pistol is what I have seen

No bogart here Jeff!!!!

I think I will look into getting another goby when I get back from Vegas in March. I am sure he will be alright til then. Thanks for the help!!!!
