Pistol shrimp

So I was wondering what do tiger pistol shrimp eat I was under the unsumption they eat wast or like food. But today when I fed my tank today I see the yellow watchmen let the shrimp out of the hole. Well he skirted about the sand picked up a small nassarius snail that had emerged from the sand. Well he picked up like 3 of them tried taking a video but watchmen was watching me and warned the pistol. So what do they eat? Thanks

They eat anything they can scavage, you should target feed their main entrance once in awhile. Their eyesight is not the greatest but like most shrimp they have one heck of a good sense of smell!

ok i guess i will put a piece of krill or silverside at night and hopefully my other fish doesnt want a bite lol.

You can get some of those hikari crab pellets to feed him. Just drop a few off (3-4) in front of his burrow like MGDMIRAGE stated. I feed these to my reef lobster to keep him from consuming my snails...and fish:lol:

When I had mine, I like feeding him pieces of shrimp.
