Hello, I recently purchased a Rose Anemone from a LFS at an internet price. The problem was he had so many he put them in white plastic cups so he could sell them, so the anemones wouldn't get stuck to his tank or live rock.
When I got it home I thought I would be able to detach it from the plastic cup, with minimal effort. Boy was I wrong, it wouldn't let go. So I didn't want to risk damaging it, I put the gorgeous looking plastic cup back into my reef tank. The rose really liked it in the cup and after 2 days it still looked beautiful, although flowing out of the white cup (apparently it took up residence inside the cup).
I cut the cup in half carefully, tried to loosen the anemone again, but the foot was firmly planted.
I cut the cup once more, being quite careful not to injure the Rose, and now only a quarter of the cup remains. Waited until the next morning to pull it off, got half of it up when it started acting like it was going to split. Not wanting to stress the poor animal out to much I left it alone.
My False Perculas think it is wonderful, they spend their day inside the Rose and the Rose spends its day inside the Dixie Cup. The Anemone still looks like it is in perfect health living on the plastic cup.
Please give me suggestions on how to get the Rose off the plastic?
