get a closser shot if you can please!!
Also try ZOAID.com they have like 200 different types of zoos there with names!!

I agree with the closer shot.

Honestly I think people put some insane name on them and jack the price up. To me if they look good a name is not important.

I agree skinz, color and healthyness is what matters! Usually i go off what colors i'm lacking in my tank to fullfill the color scheme! Theres so many of these species that names mean nothing the color is what catches a persons interest!

Alright my brother has a better camera and knows how to use it better then me. I looked on that zoaid.com and couldent find them but im still new to the saltwater world. Anyway if anyone knows what these are called It would be nice to know. Thanks

I have some others in my tank that are sold under that same name and there mostly brown and have a green mouth. They also have much longer "fingers" (excuse my ignorance in not knowing the proper name) around them. These ones have alot more purple in them (picture still dosent really do them justice) . Its a soft purple but its definetly purple. Do they just have the same common name?

Welcome to reef frontiers and your wife appears to be as lucky as you in finding each other.:)

There are many cool popular names for Zoanthids, palythoa, and Protopalythoa. Some are very close. In most cases except when buying from individuals who are friends, one gets what one pays for. Ya, would be cool if you got a huge rock of PPEs or RPEs on the cheap, but this is almost zero chance from a shop. People eaters are dark purple or solid red with a green skirt and most importantly a tight bright green mouth. Any green color outside this slit is a non-no for the high price. They get called almost RPE, etc.;)

Here is a nice writeup on button polyps:

The colors should morph under aquarium lighting. Give them some time. They will probably end up looking like something in Zoaid :)

I was not under the impresion they were ppe. I've seen those before In nomercymikes tank. I just dident know if these had a common name. When I bought them they were really light in color, then I put them in my tank and the soft purple color showed up. I just hadent seen them before and was curious what to call them. I like to be able to refer to them (my Anthelia is spreading like crazy). Thats all.
