I used some super glue like gel from GARF. But I would imagine that any kind of thick super glue or even silicon prehaps would work...

I glued the air line valve to the bottle where I cut a small hole and then ran the tubing off the air line valve to drip into my tank. I just set it up on top of the canopy, run the short section of hose to the tank and open the valve enough to cuase it to drip and let it do its thing. It hasnt failed me yet....

Wow!!!

I'm glad to hear that it survived. I was very concerned.

Congrats!!! You are now an Certified Reefer. You don't get that title until you ALMOST kill your tank. LOL. I'm certified (or maybe certifiable) too.

Again, I'm glad that it survived.

I made my own dripper out of a gallon apple cider container, airline, and one of those valves. It worked great. AND I put the hole up about an inch off the bottom so that any white precipitate that settles on the bottom won't be sucked out of the bottle.

I also made my own Kalk drip. I used one of the plastic Oceanic 50gal bottles (actually holds about 1 1/2 gallons of liquid), and poked 2 small holes in the lid. I then inserted a rigid airline tubes, so it would extend down the lid, and end about 2" from the inside bottom of the bottle. The other small hole, I put a 1" piece of that rigid tubing. From the top of the long tube, I attach a long airline hose, with one of the plastic airline valves. This long airline hose needs to extend at least 2" below the bottom of the Bottle so a syphon can occur. From the sort tube, I attached about a 6" long airline hose.

Now... mix your Kalk... put the lid on and place above your sump. When you wish to start the syphon, simply "BLOW" on the short tube. The pressure inside the plastic bottle forces the liquid out the long tube. Once it begins dripping, stop blowing. You can now adjust the airline valve for the drip rate you wish.

The nice thing about this setup... I don't have to worry about any possibility of the hole I put in the plastic bottle failing, and everything in that bottle spilling out.

Also... already having the plastic bottle, and all of the small airline tubing around, this project didn't cost me anything to put together.

The only drawback I see, is that YES, you do need to clean those airline valves about once a month to keep them from clogging.

Angel,

I'll try and get a picture of mine this evening when I get home. I don't have a very good Digital Camera, but should be good enough to give you the idea of what I've done for a Kalk dripper, and hopefully that will help you.
