Plumbing advice

Looking for advice for best / safest way to plumb a waveline dc pump which has a barbed output adapter. The male threads on the pump output aren't compatible with standrd Pvc so can't hard plumb it. Want to avoid any chance of flex tubing blowing off at connection points at the pump output and at the bulkhead leading to return to display. Not sure I can trust plastic clamps to hold the flex line attached. Thanks for the suggestions.

I've always used stainless steel hose clamps.
I know people will say that's going to rust and all that, but I have hose clamps that have been in saltwater for years that show none or very little rust or corrosion.
I use a short length of hose and go to a regular hose barb fitting and to standard pvc the rest of the way.

Agree with Marty, but I'm a big fan of Zip ties rather than the stainless hose clamps.

Interesting. Yeah, I never used the stainless steel clamps bc of the rusting issue. Do you know how toxic rust can become for a reef tank? Yes, it's a Submersable pump. Thanks for your reply.

GFO stands for granular ferric oxide. ( iron oxide, rust)
The rust off one clamp isn't likely to tank a tank
Course, the chemistry folks probably know a lot more than me...

Good to know. I have the plastic clamps and maybe also putting a zip tie as a backup could be a solution. Really appreciate this forum for advice -

Zip ties would be a good option too, but IMO having one of these would make it a better option to not come loose,

Wondering if you have heard of/ever used Plati Dip to coat the metal clamps to further prevent rusting. Wonder if you think it's reef safe?

I've heard of people using it in their tanks. Can't say for sure if you ever would have problem with it.
I just know that I have never had problems or seen a problem using the stainless steel hose clamps in my tanks.
