power outage/pumps

Ok, my power is out and the generator is running. Can someone explain why my pumps work better with the generator than the house power.

I would check the voltages Don, the generator might be putting out a little more, just a thought...

Have you checked the voltage coming off your generator? Is it higher than your normal line power? Odd that your power is out, usually we lose it before anyone, lol

My switch box says 120v. Load is less than 2%. I guess I should add a few more circuts. Now its just the tank and wiring closet. Dsl seems quicker but that could be in my head. Halides have no effect and do not slow the pumps down.

I'd check it with a good voltage monitor. Our line power here is a solid 120V, and the generator is the same with low load. If I plug-in a couple heaters though it drops and slows everything down.

120v dead on. I guess I'll wait for the power to come back and see what the line voltage is.

Gee's two nights in a row and the weather is beautiful. TPU is a joke. I called to ask whats up. They said at 530 tacoma gets a surge so the ghetto goes down. I need to move to a better part of town. We get lower priority than other parts of town. I asked if they would put that in writting and the rep hung up on me.
