So... I am having some issues with my powerheads blowing sand around. It isn't like a sand storm or anything, but very subtle. I currently have them on the black glass angled criss cross from each other, bouncing off the front glass. My issue is that after a few hours my sand gets blown to create a bald spot in the front/center. Is there a better spot I can put them in so they will leave my sand alone? I will take pictures when I get home of what is happening. Tank is long tall and narrow, I believe 60"L x 18"D x 24"H. The sand we have is very fine and easily manipulated. Also one thing to mention is that I took out all my live rock, maybe when I put it back in tonight will it help protect the sand? I guess all in all where is the safest place I can put these suckers but still get a nice all around flow?

That's just one of those things each person has to experiment with.
What powerheads are you using?

Jebao RW-8, I feel like I have pointed them every which way :( I think I will try putting them on the 2 ends of the tank vs the back of the tank, they will stick out more but whatever works. BTW that filter sock you gave me really helped clear things up, thanks!!

If you are using sugar sized sand , you will always have that problem. The only fix I know is to have a deeper depth of sand so all of it doesn't blow away.
