Hi all,
I saw a single polyp of Red Hornet zoa for $225 plus $45 shipping on ebay. I don't think I am allowed to post the ebay link in the thread, but here is its pic. Have you guys seen any crazy priced corals like this? Post them here, to make me feel better about buying a $20 ricordea :)

Is this the one you are talking about?
The first pic is just out of the bag when dude bought it, the second is in his tank.

OK, I can’t let this one pass!!!
Unfortunately, these kinds of sales are becoming much to prevalent in the hobby. I see the problem as two fold. The first one being the "baseball card/Pokymon/beanie baby mentality" or what’s hot this week…. these people are simply infatuated with having the newest thing to impress their friends or trying to turn it for a quick buck. Most of them probably have little respect for the animals they keep or the beauty they hold. In my opinion they have missed the entire point of the hobby! The second issue is "I'm going to P some people off with this one” the arrival of the dreaded "nano" onto the scene. This little glorified goldfish bowl has inflated the price of corals "that can live in the thing" to a ridiculas level! Go ahead and spend several hundred dollars on a single polyp and make it the center piece of your little unstable environment. No matter that it screws it up for the rest of us. What happened to the days of trading colonies or decent sized frags? It is only a matter of time before you will get a real tank or more than likely leave the hobby altogether.

There, I feel better now after some nano bashing!

WOW, that bag must have been really cold! Look how blue his fingers are...

ROFL... you guys are funny.

Shaun, I completely understand what you are saying and agree that the people (that must have the latest thing no matter what cost) must not TRULY appreciate the animals for what they are. But I don't think nano reefs are evil :). In fact, I would like to start one for the small things that would "get lost" in my big tank. But the most I've EVER paid for a polyp was $30 for a tiny pink ricordea yuma (which wasn't the latest thing by then, but still darn expensive if you ask me) and I love the idea of trading-it's still my favorite :)

Oh, and don't even get me started on beanie babies
