no a small 3/8 round dip from a drill bit that is rough for glue!
Could you use a dremel to rough them up a bit, wouldn't take much!!

could dremel the entire top suface but that would defeat the whole purpose of the "CLEAR PLUG" effect.
So I figure a 3/8-1/2" dip in the middle will be good enough for the glue to stick but not "CLOWD" the whole surface so the plug will almost vanish in the tank!

I wonder whether roughing it up a bit would enhance the coralline growth tho?

The coraline will grow anyway just takes a little longer to grab a hold!

Very true!!! Especially in my system. The drill bit may be the way to go.

Sweet these are really cool I really like them, I am a women too and those white plugs are awww to look at so I know how your wifey feel Myteemouse. Hmmm I may have to send hubby out to the garage to make me some I think we have some left over acrylic and I would really like some that or I may just do it
