PSAS Election Results

Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum

Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

Paul, no disrespect intended in my posts. I just want the club back on track. The bottom line, as you and all others have said, is participation. I have already PMed Gordon about going to the Thursday meeting. I am interested in forming the future of the club. I was at the meeting when the elections were held & I did hear the general apathy when there was a call for nominations.

I most certainly understand if you took offence at some of the previous comments, I am just a bit frustrated that it took several posts to rattle this information out into the open. Until recently I had no idea that the BOD wasn't getting any support at all. I wish I had known earlier so that I could have offered to help.

Hopefully Thursday we can put this thread to rest with a new schedule for the upcomming year and get on with what we enjoy...The hobby, not the politics.

Cheers all and lets start the year all over clean.

I'm glad to see that communication is flowing again between the BOD and the club members. My resignation as Event Coordinator had nothing to do with my lack of desire to be involved, nor my limited amount of spare time.

I enjoyed working with the Portland club for the (then) three years of it's existence but as they had decided to stay low-key and informal, I was really excited about working with the PSAS and its' potential.

I still would like to help with the PSAS but I am unable to come to the Thursday meeting; this is a busy week or so for anyone with kids in the Seattle area with school winding down. I too, think a scheduled meeting with an Evite would attract the most amount of potential club volunteers.

Lot's of good points being brought up. In an effort to not exclude anyone that may want to help plan meetings or be on the board the meeting I had announce will be pushed back a week and I’ll send out an Evite to everyone. Our goal it to not exclude anyone, but get things moving along so we can plan next years events. With that said, I don't think it's realistic to try to hold another set up elections. Please watch for the Evite today. If you don’t get it let me know.

Hey Gordon I am not sure what you are saying. The meeting is open to all but the positions arent?? What is the plan for the folks that would be attending??

Thanks

Mike

Essentially anyone is welcome to attend this meeting. At the beginning we'll get an idea of who would like to be on the board and who would like to just help out. The existing board members will then appoint people to the board. From there we will move into planning next years events.
