PSAS has been working on getting you new and exciting speakers in different areas. May of 2007 is no different. We are proud to announce that Jake Adams will be doing a presention for us.

Producing More Relevant Flow for Corals

Here is a little information about him.

http://coralite.net:80/aboutme.html

Although aquarists may be developing a basic understanding on the properties of light, they are still very much in the dark when it comes to understanding water flow. The study of how objects are affected by moving fluid is called fluid dynamics. Fluid dynamics may be used to describe the particles, nutrients and gases which are transported by moving fluids. This presentation will review some of the science on the interaction of water flow and corals. By offering aquarists some background understanding of how water moves, I hope to encourage coral aquarists to re-evaluate water movement in their aquaria. By applying the properties of moving fluids, it is possible to provide better and more relevant water flow for corals.

Nice choice of speakers...fresh blood! Excellent. Too bad it is the day before my babies due date....think I will be missing this meeting ;)

I am calling the Stork, maybe I can slow him down a few days.;)
That is so cool Reed.:)

Great timing! I hope I can make it. Waterflow is one area that I feel I don't really have a game plan.

I will take time off work to go to this one. This is a topic I would like to understand better. :)

**meeting Update**

We are proud to announce that The SHARK REEF is sponsoring this event!

We will be holding the meeting at The Shark Reef in Silverdale, WA @ 4pm.

A pre-meeting Social will be announced as it gets closer, depending on the interest.

Jake Adams looks to be a great speaker and a new and different topic that everyone should enjoy! Hope to see you there!

**Also note that the PSAS elections will be held at this meeting, Please let us know if you are interested in helping out. We can always use the help!***

Working on evite. Pleaes PM if not received. many are saying they aren't getting the email. Evite is a huge program and you will need to watch your spam filters. If you haven't received, give me an alternate email address.

Round Table at 230pm - Anyone interested?????

Also in general, how does everyone like the 4pm meeting time? There have been talks of changing the meeting times a bit earlier so our travelers can get home before the next day. :)

Any time is fine with me. Round Table is good too. If you guys want to really have some fun, we could meet at Origami in Silverdale too. They have superb (for this side of the pond) Sushi, sashimi, bubble tea, sweet potato fries, and a mixed Asian menu...:p I think a nice sashimi rice bowl would be perfect before going over to The Shark Reef, don't you??

I thought you retired Colleen?

oops...that's during Viking Fest guys! Busiest Weekend of the Year in Poulsbo...I may not be able to go. :(

I know this is going to be a good time, I am pumped!

It will be great to have you all here again. It is always a pleasure.

Hey Eric,
I want people to know how honest you are. I left a brand new piece of equipment at your store. You could have sold it easily. You held it for me until someone picked it up for me. :) Honesty means a lot! :) There are a lot of good people in this club working together to support each other.:)

Eric you are always smiling, positive influence to others. Thanks for what you do for PSAS. :) back at ya Buddy!

flow discussion ehh? - excellent. I'll ditto Mark's sentiments - Very timely indeed.

I'll make sure to bring lots of questions. Recently been hearing talk about a barreling effect for SPS tanks may be more beneficial than the chaotic turbulent waters. Then again, I just got back from a vacation where I did some snorkeling in Cabo and saw nothing but turbulent waters. hmmm... I can't wait to here what Jake says.

anyone in the Everett, Mill Creek, Snohomish, Bothell, Lynwood area looking to carpool for this?

Is the ferry the best way to make it over to Silverdale for us North-ender folks?

That will definately be a very busy ferry weekend; so carpooling would be a great idea. North of Seattle - Kingston Ferry (Edmonds) and South would be the Seattle Ferry.

Yes Jonathon I'm retiring as you so nicely put it. However I am still helping until the new regime takes over. I will still "help" but with some things as time allows. I can never turn a ferry ride down, or the picnics. They are too fun fish in the house or not.

Oooh- flow topics, the shark reef, and pre meeting with sushi!?! I may have to drive all the way over there again!
