PSAS Meeting place

Good morning everyone!

I'm starting to work on finding a permanent location for the regular monthly meetings starting with the October meeting. As most know, the Mercer Island Community Center is under renovation and no longer available.

We are looking to stay around mid-way on 405 to make it easy for those in the North and South ends of the area. I'm already calling the various community centers, and have calls in to a couple of hotels to check their capabilities/price.

If you have any ideas or know of facilities that rent out rooms for approximately 100 people, please PM me with the information. It will be nice to have more than one idea when the time comes!

Meeting Place

Try local public libraries. They often have conference rooms that could be used and it doesn't cost anything...

I don't know if you have Tidyman's supermarkets over there, but they all have an upstairs conference room that is free for clubs to use. Been using one for an RC Airplane club for 6+ years now.

It's just a large room with tables and chairs, but it's free.

I know the Bellevue Regional librarie has a couple big rooms that are free. I have booked them before for other events.

Libraries are usually a great avenue for meetings; however they do not let you book routinely. I will try the Bellevue libraries, but all the others said no unless it was a one time use. The rooms generally hold 65 or 70 and we are looking for 100.

Have you checked with the VFW and American Legion halls? I did a quick search for both + Seattle and found quite a few. They don't have as many weekend affairs as Elk, Eagles and Moose lodges so you might have some luck.

Great Alice, I'll try that too. I gave up on lodges after a couple Elks and Eagles. Of course they are doing their thing on the evening weekends. It seems most places are holding out for an all day rental... that's one of the issues I'm running into.

Bellevue Community College is always very empty on weekends. They also have the entire cafeteria area and lots of parking and lawn space (possible frag swapping location?)
