PSAS Meeting schedule for first half 2004

Well we have managed to put a schedule together for the balance of the year and January. We have tried to make it as interesting as possible and I hope you join us and enjoy the efforts.

For October 16th 2004
> We have Steve Tyree joining us and doing his Macna presentation of "The Biological Light Requirements of Photosynthetic Coral" Its a must see for all reefers and especialy for you SPS keepers. The talk explains how different lights have different effects on corals pigments. This meeting will be held at the Bellevue Community College.

For November 20th 2004
>An evening with the Vendors. We have put together a good sized group of vendors from the local and not so local areas to come and set up displays for our members to view. All vendors have been so kind as to donate a significant prize for each of them and we will be raffling off the prizes as the night goes by. I have also heard that thier will be some outstanding prices on goods and live stock. Please come and support the club and the vendors which are our life blood. This event will also be at the BCC

For December 11th 2004
>An evening for the club members. PSAS is inviting all members to come and join us for dinner on the club. PSAS would like to buy you dinner at the Tamerind Thai resturant in Redmond. This will be a casual night to enjoy friends, good conversation and a great meal. Little birdie tells me that thier might be a brand new RR 125 being raffled off to. You got to buy your drinks.

For January 22nd 2004
> Eric Borneman is coming bact to visit us and is going to put on a speaking presentation. We havent chosen the topic yet but its safe to say its going to be a good one. This event will be at the BCC and is free to all PSAS members.

As per the balance of the year we have a few folks already booked including Anthony Calfo and we will make the announcement as soon as we fill in a couple of blanks. I hope you will be joining us at all the events and they meet the standard this club is used to.

take care

Mike

a portland psas meeting

i think it would be awesome to have a portland psas meeting. it would give everyone a chance to check out the wonderful assortment of livestock the portland area has to offer, and shaun's store WAVES is definately one of the best by far. his new store is nice and big, perfect for a meeting, and he always has a nice supply of uncommon fish and corals in stock every time i visit. im always seeing strange stuff i never see up here.
definately worth a 2 1/2 hour drive with a bucket and a battery operated air stone. :)

We have a hard time getting people to drive to Tacoma for a meeting.

Shaun,
I appreciate the offer to have a meeting at your store. Maybe we could plan a PSAS day at your store where anyone with a PSAS card gets a discount. Doesn't Portland have a reef club? Have tey had meetings at your store?

Gordo

There is a club PNWMAS, which will be meeting here on the 16th of Jan.

I would like to host your club as well. And of course a discount would apply to all your members.

Thanks reefout. We are still adding set-ups and store systems.

Hi, are you related to Patrick Monahan? I ordered a couple frags from his www.spsfrags.com awhile, back. The link now directs to Chad's www.reefscience.com .

Loved Patrick's system and frags. I lost his Acropora tizardi (light blue) awhile back due to old VHO lights.

I don't know what happened to Patrick Monaghan and spsfrag.com. We are not related but I used to sell to Patrick way back in the day. I have alot of what he had. Do you have a pic of the A. tizardi? I might have it and cll it by another name...
