I think that is a great idea. I know i would support it any way i could and i'm sure fellow reefers/ even freshies would feel the same way. Spokane is on the up and up. I have been away for the last 5 years, and am now back for as long as i'm a live, and have seen many positive changes in the upgrading of the city. The only problem i do see is trying to maintine the proper level of funding it would take to run a well established aquarium. Spokane has such a large demographic of lower to middle income families i dont know if the turn out would stay up consistantly to pay for the facilites. Seattle is bigger yes, but i belive they have a higher ratio of middle to upper class incomes to help with that kind of thing. People spend more money there.
What would be the process of starting something like that. Would it need to be put to the city or would it be better if it was more along the lines of a private owned facility. I bet they could get a large amount of voluentered help, to cut down on over head. Could you imagine doing something like that as a highschool kid to get the hours. Heck even as an adult i would love to spend a couple hours being involved with something like that.
