Puffer vs. Powerhead

While on vacation, my puffer had a bout with one of my powerheads. Needless to say, the pufeer lost the battle and the war is yet to be decided. His rear end got caught and my friend who was wathing over my tank freed him. Its been over a week and he is alive and swimming, and eating as much as always, but his tail end is pretty raw. any suggestions for a speedy recovery?

Good food, good water quality, lower salinity slowly so that the saltwater doenst exert as much force trying to equalize with the freshwater in the puffer. Melafix may help some. Get one of the guards made for powerheads. Sorry that happend to your puffer. They are really cool fish.
