You might consider a Panworld or Eheim for a CL of that size, either should have a GPH range to match that of the Q1 6000!
I would love an eheim but the biggest gph is 900 and I don't think that would be enough. The quiet one 6000 is 1500 gph. I thought about the panworld. Do you know if they are quiet. I also thought about the sequence dart snapper 2500 gph but someone said that would be too much pump. I do have a gate valve that I can turn down the flow. What do you think?

Welcome to RF!! I ran 2 of the Quiet One 6000's on my 38gal cube and loved the flow, but my pumps got really hot (weren't noisey at all). In any event, I'd probably try out the Sequence and depending on your inhabitants, shouldn't be too much pump at all. Like I mentioned, I ran 2 of the same Quiet One pumps you have with also a 950 gph return and wasn't too much for my tank. Just a few thoughts

Snapper is a very efficient pump compared to others out there. Its hard to beat Reeflos service.
What effect will it have if my pvc is 1.25 and the snapper input being 2" and output of 1.5" if I reduce those. Thanks for all your help. Linda

ok so I thought I would measure the area where this pump will go and the snapper will have a really hard time fitting there. I am now looking at the panworld 100 px-x rated at 1266. Do you know if this pump is relatively quite. Thanks for your help.

When you get to a certain point you'll get some sound & heat from any pump but some are just a tad better than others. Not having personal experience with that pump myself all I can go by is what I've heard from others & theses are suppose to be good pumps. Sequence makes great pumps & for a CL a Dart or snapper would be nice but limited I'd stick to a high flow rated panworld & hope it is what your looking for. JMO

The snapper can be drawn down with gate valve without heat issues. The energy consumption of Snapper is less than 100 watts. It would have no problem with reduction of one inch and quarter inch. It would return your money in long run without heat issues or energy consumption. Again, the Service you get from Reeflo is second to none.
I will bet you that you have more heat distributed from Panworld pump than Reeflo Snapper. That has been my experiece with magnetic drive pumps. I could be wrong. I would have to run a laser temp gun on that magnetic pump. The magnetics in the past that I compared to Dolphins and Sequence and Reeflo ran a little warmer.

Thanks for all your help. I decided to go with the panworld. Hope it doesn't heat up too much. I would probably have gone with the reeflo but I would have to redo all my plumbing and that would have been such a pain. Thanks again for the help. Linda
