I just bought a Pan World NH-100PX external pump off Ebay that had been used for about eight months. As you can see in pictures, it needs to be cleaned. My problem is this: I can't find a manual online or elsewhere, (and it didn't come with one) that describes maintenance procedures. I want to take off the ‘fan blades’ but I don’t think that it’s screwed on. Dose anyone have any clue how to remove the blades or can direct me to a manual?

Trev I have never seen this type of pump before, but if you look at the top of the spindle thier looks to be a small metal clip, You should be able to spread that off and then the impeller should slide right off. Check this clip and see if it has a break in it.

Hey Mike,

Yeah, that’s what I thought too. Though you can’t see it in the pictures, I’ve removed the retaining clip, and tried to remove the impeller and tried to unscrew the spindle, neither of which worked. :doubt:

Any other thoughts?

Thanks.

Well if you just cant get it apart. Maybe you would want to try this. Buy 2 or 3 gallons of white cheap dollar store vinager and let it run sucking into and returning to a bucket. Maybe with old pantyhose or filter sock to catch debris on the return. Maybe it will work to clean it up for you. Just a thought. Steve
