its a 75g AGA RR tank. i have 2 bulb heads for the bottem of the other flow. that have some old pvc ill remove and clean, id say it looked like a 1/2" and a 3/4" im not sure tho, one hole is bigger then the other... ill find out for sure soon. but

my idea is to have my 45 breeder aga as the sump above the main tank.

let me explain,
the down side from the main desplay will go right to the pump on the ground. of lower then the main tank, then it will pump up to the sump. (3-5feet head) it will go up and over the glass side, but not be in the water,
so that when the power goes out... all that sucks back down will be whats in the line only.

the sump will have baffles and what not the skimmer will have a section, the return side will have a bulk head at the level i want, that will be free flowing right back to the main tank. (pods and goods insured)

the main will have a close loop maybe, but i think the tunzes will be enough,

the flow to the sump doesnt have to be crazy,

what kind of GPH should i be looking at,

figure 3/4 comeing from the tank, and 1" return from the sump.

i will plumb other things to the sump....

also what kind of pump..... i guess i limit my self to an external pump only... what kinds should i be looking at, and what should i be staying away from,

HMM
Depends on your equipment I guess when it comes to pump size. You dont want to push too much through your sump at one time. You need to allow enough time for the skimmer, chiller, reactors, ect to do their job.
I run a PCX-40 as my return valved down 50% on 180G total volume (110G main tank)
