Purigen

Are any of you running Purigen? I have heard good things about it and that it is even renewable, but I am skeptical.

just curious if anyone has had any experience with it.

It is fine to use an works well. I know it is rechargeable but I would not recharge it more than 4 times. I do not believe it is replacement for GAC, just a good added sup along with the GAC.

Matrix is awesome because of the way it is shaped. Water doesn't channel through it so water comes in better contact with the carbon. I agree with Boomer....it's an awesome carbon.

I got a funny carbon story for ya. I called TLF and ordered 2 55 gallon drums of lignite-based carbon (TLF Hydrocarbon) for the store. It arrived when I was off and they thought they could run it the same as they were running the Kent bulk carbon. They quickly found out that they COULDN'T just fill a micron sock with it and pound it with massive amounts of flow. I'm glad I was off. ;-)
