Hey guys,

I won a purple hornet zoanthid polyp as a door prize at the PSAS BBQ.

A few days after I got it, it opened up briefly, and was a dull brown color. It then closed up and hasn't opened up since. Its color looked way off when it did open.

I've moved it to different lighting/flow areas, but it doesn't seem happy, and hasn't opened up since.

I have a lot of zoanthids, including some that I also added that same day. All the other zoanthids look great.

Is there anything I can do to try to make this guy happy?

All my parameters are in a reasonable range

Mg: 1275
Ca: 440
Phos: 0
Nitrates: 0
Nitrites: 0
Ammonia: 0
Alk: 8-8.5 dKH
Salinity: 1.025
Temp: 78

This single polyp is the only thing in my tank that isn't looking good, and it has been in there awhile now (since the BBQ)

I've tried it all over. Its on the bottom of the tank now in medium flow. I'll move it back up and see if something happens.

Was wondering if there was some dip or something I could do to try to revive it. I'm pretty sure its at death's door, but would really like it to live. Purple hornets are pretty awesome

Lugol's would be a gentle dip. But I have used furan or bi-furan with great success when I thought a zoa frag is a goner. I don't know if I would recommend using it on a 1-polyp frag, might put too much stress on it.
Purple hornets have always been one of my finicky zoas.

I'd try a mild lugols dip or a mild ReVive or CoralRx dip.
I'd go with 3/4 of the recommended doseage

Did you have any luck with your PH opening up Rob. Keep us posted.
