Someone today told me that they did some research on the net somewheres...not sure where..but he read that long tentacles and frogspawn...something chemically that they do not get along in the tank.

Have any of you all heard of this? I did not think that corals and anemones could have chemical warfare..but not sure.
Thanks

Misty

Well they both can pack a mighty sting. and if left too close (within 8 inches) one would most likley get pretty dammaged.

No he mentioned that even in the same tank that they would do something. I know they both have a punch to their sting..

I am unaware of anything like that and I have had both in a tank before for several months.

Same here, I had frogspawn, Hammer, and a torch in the same tank as a LTA and BTA for 2 years with no problems with either...

I have a couple species of frogspawn, a couple species of torch, and a bunch of candycanes all in a few inches of eachother. No LTAs anymore, but pleanty of RTBAs cruiseing all around them. I've never detected a negitive interaction yet, all seem to be in great health, but its not like I'm able to ask them if they are in combat with eachother, which they very well could be, and my ignorance prohibits makeing the observation.

I will be spaceing things more apropreately as soon as I finally get moved in to the new place in Lakewood. Sucks to be so short on tank real-estate that I have to pack corals in like cord wood just to make sure everything get to be underwater.

I personally wouldn't worry about it if your system is healthy and of decent water volume.
