Quick dumb question

So on skimmers with a bubble plate, do the beveled edges of the holes go up or down? I'm pretty sure they were facing down when I took it apart, but I want to be sure.

I just took my skimmer apart last night for cleaning and it is facing down.

yep, bevels facing down to the pump.
