Do y'all remember back on 2/22 when wingnut247 (Travis) posted that he was the father of a new brood of reidi seahorses? Well, I ended up with some of those fry who are now 7 weeks old (tomorrow). In the meantime my own reidi has had fry 3 times and Travis's has had more too (every 2 weeks like clockwork). I also recieved some tigertail fry from New York today that were born last Saturday. It's been a struggle, but here are pictures of my set up and the fry I have now.
I also want to thank Travis for sharing his fry and his ideas and joanndl (also working with these same broods) for her efforts and sharing her methods, and Susie (Tangee) for her generous sharing of rotifers with us. Thank You. Looking forward to success for us all with these and future broods. :)

Thank you Vicky, I can't really do much with out your support. You really go the distance to help me out. And yes, thank you Travis for sharing and Susie for your rotifer.

Are the yellow tigertail fry? They look so cute and healthy. Twice the size of the Reidi.

Thank again for coming tonight.

Joann.

Looks like my place.....LOl...

I love the setups Vicky!!

Soon soon....I will go for seahorses...but more clowns for me still...to conquer..

Best,
Ilham

Yes, sorry.. the yellow ones are H. comes, common name Tigertails. The others are H. reidi, common name Brazilian.

And Elmo... if you think thats bad.. here is a photo of the cultures of greenwater, brine, rotifers and copepods on shelves in my hall, and the second picture of one wall of the second tiny bedroom (now "fish room") where we culture marine ghost shrimp larvae (7 week olds love them) and whatever else my mad scientist hubby is up to. Remember.. this is a 14' wide mobilehome.

Thats VERY cool! Where did you learn all about this stuff. I am so fasinated by everything people like you do. I am still trying to get a batch of Phytoplankton to work hahaha.

Thanks, Detri. I learned it most of it on the internet. First, you start with an obsessive personality. Then add a person with way too much time on her hands :D (Hubby works nights and I work days, kids are long gone). I've spent hundreds and hundreds of hours researching anything to do with raising seahorses. The rest I've learned talking to people with the same interests and then, my old standby... trial and error... lots of error.

Thats really cool. I am going through that with my Phyto project. It seemed to be easy before I started. I am going to try again soon though.
