Real Reef Live Rock...

What is the word on this rock? Is it like the real think minus hitch hikers?

Reef rock is basically a man made product that has been painted for those that are a little impatcient to wait for corraline to build up. When I rerocked my tank I did a lot of testing on it and similar. I found the Reef Rock to be a bit to dence and way to close to Concrete for my liking. I ended up going with the Marco rock as it is a natural product (as in a former reef) that has died but is submerged in an aquafer. Either product offer the option of live where they add bacteria to it, no biggie their.

Marco Rock is indeed Awesom as I have it in my 180, all I did was add a few pieces of live rock to seed it.

I bought some of the Real Reef stuff. I really like it. No problems and it looks pretty great with all the purple color already on it.

Yes. Since it's never been in the ocean, no pests. I believe FHI keeps it in their holding tanks for a number of months before they put it out for sale. You should find a local store that carries it to see if you think it will work for you.
