Red algae??

My nano (8 gal) is just starting to get red stringy algae. Don't know where it came from. It's starting to spread. How do I get rid of it. Any suggestions anyone?

probably diatoms. get as much out as you can. check your water chemistry. research diatoms or cynobacteria on this site.

Water changes is the place to start and cur down on your feeding.

Anyway to post a pic for a positive ID?? As for most algae's in general, if the setup is new, you will experience it. All a part of cycling...How long has the tank been up?

Suck out what you can, do water changes and increase your flow to those areas.

Yeah...The tank is still young...Things will stabilize as the tank matures. Good luck!
