Red and green cyno outbreak in my refuge

Hello, so having a little issue. Have two 1" size spots of red cyno in my 90g display tank and 75% of my fuge has been covered in red and a couple patchs of green cyno. I syphoned off most of it but some concerns. I think the fuge might be due to lack of flow? I only have 8 fish in the tank and feed half a cube of mysis daily, which they clean up quickly. I have been using a 50/50 mix of Ro and DI water for my mix and freash water top off. NH4 and NO2 both read 0 and NO3 reads >5ppm using new salifert kits. I do not have a large clean up grew, 30 mixed snails and 20 blue leg hermits. Should I add some red leg hermits to help with the cyno? Thanks for any help, want to nip this in the bud before it becomes a problem!!

Good job on siphoning it out. Turn off powerheads and suck it up with a turkey baster or something similar.
It is the red stringy algae? Attack it before the lights come on. U turn em on real quick and suck up the strings before they spread out for the light.......
Imo most algae problems are a water chemistry and water flow problem. Add a powerhead to your sump if u like. Just put it in the fuge section.
Do your w/c's too. Some 20-40% w/c s will help. I use rodi water that test 0ppm tds.

Btw ur nitrate read out may be false from the algaes eating up the phosphates and nitrates out of the water.

O and u might b maxed out on fish depending on the fish and the size.

I have 2" bi-color blenny, two 2" sleeper gobies, a 2" Tomonni tang, a 3" two spot tang, 2" pr of bangiis, and a 1.5" dolden sleeper gobie. I did have to add 4 fish more sudden than planned due t a QT tank problem. I added a Hydor Koralie 1050 to the sump and will feed every other day for a week or so. Also did a 30g water change today.

Cryano usually is a nutreint problem combinded with lack of flow or dead spots in the tank(or fuge). I usually get cryano outbreaks during my cycling when I set up a new tank.

You can cut your lighting duration down to help clear it up also.

Yea i've heard to go lights out for 3 days and be sucking out the cyano as you go.
