reef vital dna?

Is it another 'stuff' in a bottle?

If it 'supposedly will make your reef better', you're better off with consistent water changes.

Is this the product, Reef Vital DNA? I wouldn't waste my money on it. There are better trace mineral additives out there, if water changes aren't getting it done. I love this statement about the product:

Reef Vital DNA is a water conditioning product that when applied allows the dipole water molecules of the aquarium to realign, promoting greater light penetration throughout the aquarium water. Deeper light penetration promotes the growth of beneficial coralline algae and significantly enhances colors.

Can someone explain how an additive realigns water molecules for better light penetration?

I love all these miracle products. Especially when their salesmen show up at a meeting or store, how fun to play with them! I know a really good way to make all the molecules in water line up but it involves the freezer :)

What really really freaks me out is when they sell potassium permangenate for clarifying and don't tell people it's in there. Not only is it poisonous to the tank but it's poison to us, should be out of reach of children, and a big source of stains for the aquarist. Wonder what it does when you drip it on acrylic? It's sold with a brush attachment for revitalizing and prepping liverock. Ha. Another favorite is coral food which costs a great deal and is mostly yeast with a multivitamin and a few sprinkles of dried spirulina added. That's gotta be great for water quality.

So back to the initial inquiry, why were you interested in the product, maybe we can steer you toward a more reputable one that does the trick, or maybe you just plain don't need it...
