refugium plants help???

I put about an inch sand bed and ordered a few mangrove stems to try along with a few other fuge plant species. I just combined 2 50 gal reef tanks into my new 110g with a 50g sump/refugium. I will put up pics when I get a chance. pretty cool setup.

in my sump iam using it for skimmer and heater, the middle is open, what and how do i start using macros,like and thing in the bottom of the fuge, lighting times ect.....i have a 13w 6700k light that fits over my fuge, would that work?

or i have a 75 w 5100k compact fluorescent flood light,
