What is everone's preference for refugium substrate. I was planning on using Miracle mud. When I finally get the tank set up I hope to keep SPS, LPS and maybe a softie or two. I have a 100 gal tank with 20 gal sump and 10 gal refugium.

I use fine sand with a few pieces of live rock and some rubble. This seems to work well for me. I've never tried the miracle mid.

I usse the miracle mud and it has gotten phosphate saturated so i am going to switch to agronite the mud is messy and a pain over time at least that is my opinion. I was thinking about mixing the 2 but haven't decided yet

I don't use anything in my 'fuge. It's easy to keep a fuge clean w/o any substrate as the detritus is clearly visible.

hmmm never thought about the live rock rubble that is a good idea I think I will switch to that. thanks for the advice on that.
