i have a 29 GALLON tank i have had setup for now over a year with a refugem tank here last early winter i started haveing a fall off in some of my calurpia in the refuge and started noticing a problem with hair alage one issues i did resolve was i fixxed a issue that i was having with the fuge was haveing ahard time getting it to flow wright some days it would floow good back to the main tank them some days i would half to turn it down to keep it from over flowing the refuge it uses to run about 50 gph flow now i got it fixed and doing 300gph the calirpia seems to be doing better and seems to be taking off again will my hair alage at some poing taper off

If you keep your alkalinity up, and reduce nitrate levels in the tank system with water changes to balance the trace elements, you should see a noticable drop in the hair algae within a month or two. You don't mention any of your levels, but that method has served me well over the years. Hope it helps. Water changes can cure many evils!

It took me at least 6 months to eliminate the hair algae in my 80 gallon when I added my fuge. With the increased flow that you provided to the fuge, I think that will help. Once the Caulerpa takes a good hold again, you will start to notice a difference in the amount of hair that you have. Keep your water param's stable. Do you drip kalk, because that will help precipitate the phosphates that are fueling the hair algae. HTH
