I am looking at purchasing a beter model return pump right now for my 125. Right now, I have a mag 7 on it. I am thinking of using that for my calcium reactor and carbon chamber. Does anyone have any recommendations for a return pump. I have a 125 tank and a 50 gallon sump if that matters? Thanks.

How large of an overflow do you have?
I use an Eheim 1262 on my 125!

Mag 7 for cleaning stuff up but that seems a bit too small for a 125 return pump.

I'm running a Panworld 55PX-X and am quite happy with it. Don't know if it matters, but it's not submersible like the mag you're running now though. I've never heard anything bad about those Eheim pumps that Scooter mentioned; their supposed to be real quiet for a submersible.

For a submersible pump eheim makes about the best. Personally I would suggest going with a good external pump, GenX Mak 4, Panworld, Iwaki, etc. They don't add as much heat into the water (they are fan cooled), they normally last longer then submersible pumps (ehiems though can last as long). Plus compared to many submersible pumps they are more energy effeciant.
