Yesterday I noticed my green ric oozing brown goo from it's 3 mouths (it has yet to split, but has 3 mouths...lol) Is this normal for them to behave like anemones or should I be worried?? Thanks!

Becky - it may be #2, however, Ricordea, as well as other corallimorphs, can expell their mesenterial filaments or zooxanthellae when stressed either chemically or mechanically. Check you water quality, and make sure everything is good.

I did a water change and cleaning yesterday, so it makes sense. The stress could've caused it. Water's perfect. Thanks!

they are anemones i have some mushrooms that eat just like anemones

My clown isn't hosting in it, but he seems to be concerned that it gets something to eat. He does that with my blenny also. He carries mysis over to his rock and drops it for him to eat. What a caring fish... =) I think he's overdoing it with the ricordia, because everytime I feed my tank, it seems to get a big piece of mysis...

Hey Becky, in my experince they wont eat anything they don't want or need. So if he will eat let him eat, it will just grow and spread faster. Steve

I had an anemone for awhil, so I am familiar with how they behave, but was unaware that ricordias acted similarly. THanks for all the help!
