If your replacing your membrane, you may want to check before you do, if you have chlorine in your water. Chlorine can or will damage membranes. I hooked up two Sediment filters and two carbon filters before the membrane with a check valve after the first carbon filter so I can check for chlorine before it goes into the second carbon filter then on to the membrane.

No your prefilters(sediment filters) filter just that, sediments. Small, very small, particles of debris. Your carbon filter will remove the chlorine. however you dont know when the carbon stops filtering the chlorine out unless you test the water coming out of the carbon filter. If it is coming thru, it is getting to your membrane. Thats why I am using two carbon filters and I test periodically after the first one. If I detect any, I replace the carbon in the first filter. You can check with your water company to see if they add chlorines to the water or not. If they don't, you probably wont need to worry about it.
