Here is my latest project. I'm finding my tank going lopsided and using imbalanced CA. I dont want to dose manually and I dont want anything more under my tank. My ato is connected directly to my rodi and the solenoid is under my tank. So here my answer to the issues. Basicly I'm going to inject the ato rodi line with calcium chloride.

1. Ato turns on
2. Pressure switch see waste production
3. Relay turns on peri pump
4. Ato turns off
5. Pressure switch see pressure fall
6. Relay turns peri pump off.

I may use a pressure canister and air pump instead of the peri pump but I havent made up my mind. The same setup can be used to dose alk also but would have to be run on time intervals like alk at night and ca during day.
Dose is adjust by changing the strength and or rate of the addition.

In theory it should work:)

I was thinking on the same lines a few days ago when I saw the talk about kalk etc. I would like to tap into my top off, even though my ato isn't direct connected I use a 30g Rubbermaid tub. I would need another container I guess to set that up, I’ll watch this to see how it goes, there has to be a reliable way to automate all or at least part of the CA supplementation.

If your tub is just rodi water then youve got it pretty simple as long as your not going to a kalk reactor. Just add ca chloride to your ato and your done with the ca part. The alk part is also very simple. Use a timer, air pump and bottle, you could use a timer board so that you can dose in 2 or what ever second intervals.
Dosing is really simple and cheap as long as you dont over complicate things.:)

Don have you checked on the peri pump Sprctrapure sells?? If you call Charlie the owner he can hook the pump to auto topoff system very easily. He demo'd it for me and the Mrs when we toured his Facility. Very much what your talking about.

I appreciate the thought but thats just a overpriced peri pump and I'm cheap. What Im doing is injecting suppliments directly into a sealed rodi output line. The rodi water is the carrier for the suppliments. Kind of like how a sprikler system has a fertilizer injector. The pump or pressure bottle is just to get the suppliments into the rodi line. I only want one do it all tube. I get very nice peri pumps for $78 ea or a air pump for $10:)

1) Don what is your source for calcium chloride?
2) Can this be added directly to the RO/DI water in the tub?
3) What do you use for the alk supplementation in this case?

This seems easy, I think It can be done easily enough for my situation.

I use ESV dry right now because I got a killer deal, but when thats gone I'll diy.
Basicly randys two part stuff is fine but I like nigari better than mag flake. FYI we have a new sponser that carries all this stuff at a fair price except the nigari.
Yes the ca can go directly in the ato holding tank.
