Hey everyone! The next Rogue Reefers meeting will be held at my place.

Sunday, January 9th
Hours: 11am-3pm


We will do a potluck style meeting again. I will be making some gluten free chicken wings. They were pretty popular at our last meeting. Feel free to bring along a snack to share, however it is not required! It's a BYOB event! So feel free to bring along your favorite poison.

I'm not sure yet what will be on for football, but I'll have a game on for sure. We will also have a poker table setup for anyone who wants to play cards.

Just as a reminder this is a social event, feel free to come and make some new friends who share our interest, or catch up with some you haven't seen in a while!

If you have a buddy who's into the hobby, bring them along too.

Our meetings are a laid back atmosphere so come on down to relax and B.S.

If you think you can make it, please RSVP in this thread, it will help give me an idea how many wings to make, and if I need to start knocking down walls to accomidate everyone.

I am not sure yet if I can attend, but I will bring a gluten free dish as well if I end able being able to go!

i think im free this time. wounds like i will be there. i will bring some jalapeno poppers rapped in bacan. what. did you say bacan. thats what im talking about.
 
Are you sold on Sundays? That is family time and to get anywhere by noon I have to skip on on church should the family want to go.

Not at all. The way we figure, its up to everyone, AND also to the person who's house its at. :)

I wanted to be a part of another reef club for several years, but they insisted on Saturday afternoons. I had to work EVERY time. I had asked a few times over the years to consider a Sunday meeting, and was told to basically "F" off every time. I have Saturdays off now, but I don't want anyone to feel left out here.

We were going for Sunday at my place only because I've got a pretty slick setup for watching some football. I have a 65" that we watch games on, and a 42" mounted above it for NFL redzone.

If you can't make the January meeting, we can try to have the Feb meeting on a Saturday day, evening or something like that. It all depends on who decides to host it, and how flexible they are. I'm also totally open to a Friday night, or even meeting at a pub. We don't plan on meetings only being held on certain days, or during certain hours. I wan't it all to be as easy and laid back as the atmosphere when we get together.
 
Thank you BTC for the detailed reply. I saw the cross post on NSR and want to make it but cannot commit. The football tie in makes perfect sense and please don't adjust just for one guy up north.

On a side note, I am going up to help with the 1600 gal system. And Rogues making the trip?
 
I should be able to pop in for this one, never really sure until the last moment, but it sounds doable. Put me down and I will bring what ever is missing. Can you shoot me a pm again I accidently deleted the last one.

Glad you guys should be able to make it, HOWEVER I hit a little snag last night. My three thousand dollar LED lighting thats less than a year old burned up last night. I spoke with the new US distributor and he thinks it wont be until after Xmas before I see a replacement power source. Every thing should be dead by then...
 
BCT:

I gave away my halides but have an icecap or two laying around should you need to rig something up. What broke? Someone on the list should be able to take a look.
 
As near as I can tell one of the three LED drivers went bad. I was able to confirm this with a voltage meter. My concern is that two of the three LED panels are working but cannot be controlled via bluetooth as it had been setup, or manually by the touch screen on the unit. The third panel is only a slave unit so it should in theory have no effect on the controllability of the fixture as a whole. As of now, the ONLY thing is will do is light the moonlights which isnt even enough to limp the tank along for awhile. The lights HAD been programmed to turn on at 10am so we will see what happens.

That would be awesome Mike. Like I posted in the other thread the US distributor said the driver will come from Poland. With Xmas and customs it could take awhile. Last time when I actually ordered the lamp it was hung up in customs for 3-4 days. After that they had to ship it to the US distributor before it came to me. The distributor in Poland won't ship directly to customers normally.
 
Ok no sweat then, when I get back I will slide the coral over and pull out a light setup. Now its a 400 watt MH with a full reflector. The reflector has a hook on it. I think I might have a stock setup (as in reflector) but I will have to dig. SHoot me a pm with your ohone number and we will get ya hooked up.
