thanks Dr Dee....the lighting color is perfect(just for my personal preference)..for some reason they look really blue in my pics...i plan on adding one more 10,000k bulb pretty soon..i didn't think one actinic would be enough blue, but it is..hopefully my coral will like the new lights!!!

Nice to follow along and see what I might be able to do in the futre!
Nice job Ron

Going to mount the endcaps into the hood, out of the way?
i was going to, but i came across a few problems..if i mount them, i will have to unmount them every time i have a problem with a bulb or a problem in the tank..i actually mounted them(the endcaps) at first, then i couldn't get the bulbs into the endcaps..i will make something to hold the lights in place where they are..i like them right on top of the water..i just need to make a block or something to keep them from falling into the water....i can actually just push the bulbs all the way to the back and work in the tank..i like this because they are not stationary and i can get around the easily

awesome dood !! now your tank looks fancy :D :p .
Now just put Kimmy in a picture so we can compare because to me it looks tiny aswell :p.

I think it just looks small because of the rockwork being similar to his other tank which was smaller...Maybe you can get in the tank Ron to help us better see:p

how do you like the canopy Krish???i got the idea from your old setup..the whole front half opens up!!!

Ron, the missing link (not talking about Dr Dee) is stand-off clips. Correctly mounted, you can change bulbs whenever you wish by unscrewing the retaining ring, leaving the endcaps attached to your hood. When you raise your hood, the bulbs raise up out of the way with it...

what are stand-off clips??...i had the problem of not being able to change the bulbs once they were mounted and the clips screwed in...

i have those!!!!i didn't know what they were called.. i had them screwed into a board and i was going to mount them from the top, but they were all mounted to the same board...once the first bulb was in place, the others wouldn't fit ...

i may be able to add one of my hippo's this week..i have been observing it in a qt tank for a few weeks...i think it will be fine if nothing shows up on it in the next week or so!!

Yeah those stand-off clips are sweet! (The missing link maaan) So you don't have to monkey around to much when you change the lamp's:D

thanks Dang!!! it is starting to have coralline growing all over the back..just tiny dots right now...the tank is still very young!! i am fixing to take my softies out and replace them with all sps corals!! i am also about to add a few MH lights

Nows when you see just how big your pockets really are. Mine were not big enough and my patience were shot. I still wish you the best of luck though.

Tank looks good Ron
