They poop a lot & its sticky. 5 gallon bucket gets gross quickly. I noticed a huge difference between the culture with a filter & the one without.

This is the filter that fits a 5 gallon bucket 20150313_174535.jpg

Poor the remaining culture into bucket with the strainer of rotifers. Put the clean filter back in bucket (I should have said step 1, rinse filter till clean). Then top off bucket with NEW saltwater & connect to air pump.20150313_180622.jpg

Finally got a second to check out your pics...any input on reproducing that filter in my garage? I have a 30 gal tank dived by glass baffles in 1/3's. Would like to make that device with 3 filters hangin down...:)

You can probably buy the parts from a hardware store. I think it would be difficult to clean a 30 gallon tank. Their poop sticks to the sides of the container. I dump 3/4 of the culture into another bucket when I clean. Their is a lot of crap settled at the bottom & stuck on the sides of the bucket. That's why I dump the last 1/4. I can then easily rinse out & clean the filthy bucket. I couldn't do that with a 30 gallon tank. They produce a stringy slime gross gunk. You will see after you start culturing them. I recomend using a bucket. Rotifers also need to be fed daily.
