I am still in the Dark about rotifers. I know they are small invertebrates. I would like to learn what type of environment they require to thrive. Is is possible to keep them in your refugeum or Tank full time for a food source?
Thanks in Advance,

They are kinda higher maintenance that to be able to self sustain in a fuge. As I understand them, and granted I have never tried to grow them out, they require regular water changes and food or else the population crashes thereby poluting the water. Better to grow them separate and feed them to your tank every day.

I would ask aaron however (UWSCOTCH) as he grows them himself.

Yes, if you haven't contacted uwscotch yet, do so. At the last PSAS tank tour, he showed us his growing setup. Pretty impressive, but not really complicated. Just well done.

I culture rotifers, it seems very easy to me. I never thought about keeping them in a tank. Hmmmm... I don't think the food density would be high enough to maintain a population in your tank. I feed mine 3-4 times a day by turning the water light green with homegrown phyto.
