Does anyone have a good source online or in the local Seattle/Tacoma area for those big rubbermaid tubs people use to cycle rock in? I'm referriring to those big oval industrial looking tubs that look like they are for farming or something.

If you are looking for the 100 gallon type. Look for a feed store because they are sold as water troughs

Hi Stan, are you using them to cure rock in? I have one around 50 gals of the one you're looking for here. You're welcome to use it.

Best,
Ilham

You can pick up the Large tubs from any Farm stores.. They are used for feeding large animals... There should be some Farm stores up in your area..

Check Del's Farm Supply (253) 833-3550

Do they have tractor suppy company in your neck of the woods? They are a big "farming store" chain and order in bulk to supply super cheap prices.

Word to the wise; when you get one. Take their crappy "bulk" head and epoxy the hell out of it to seal it shut and prevent any possible leak. It will leak; Trust me.....It WILL leak. I wish that I would have done this. If you want to plumb it, drill your own hole and use a relable bulk head from savko plumming or the equivelant.

Mine when I had my old one never leaked.. I just picked up another one today and It doesnt leak at all either... Here in my town the 100g tub is 69.99 and the 150g is 114.99

James

By the way, nice avatar with the bear, and I REALLY like your signature line! Every so often I remind people that I failed to graduate from art school and have been diagnosed more than once with various and sundry neurological and brain dysfunctions. :) My advice may be only as good as the source material. If I can remember that.

I recently had to take my tank down and borrowed a new 100 gallon rubbermaid livestock tub from a friend. The bulkhead leaked on me....not the threaded part, but the area around the outside of the bulkhead. That stunk...thankfully, we hadn't transferred all the water yet, and used something else instead.

Thats good advice on the bulkhead. If I end up using one of those tubs I'll keep that in mind. How much rock can you cure in a 100 G tub?.

Kate thanks the comment on the avatar...I kind of like to goof around with stuff like that ;)
