So i had the opportunity to meet with broskie and pic up a sweet brand new 29 gallon biocube.

I have been watching for a good deal and found one!

As soon as he left i ran and grabbed some black livesand.. i have been waiting to do something with black sand forever now..

That very same day i had got a frag pack from a buddy, so it worked out perfectly!

Im starting this from my phone and dont think its gonna add the pic the way i want to.. so ill add pics once i get to a pc..

But i would like suggestions or tips on using a biocube i been reading about little mods to help in different ways..

Just excited to share my new tank...

Cant wait to hear some feedback, comments, and suggestions from all yall with experience with biocubes..

Haha, give me a few days.. barely got it up.. i been looking at a few different options on what to do.. the in-Tank products are apealing and i been eyeing a maxijet 1200 for the pump upgrade... and rapidled.com got a sweet led retrofit... remember i picked this up in the spurt of a moment.. you got any suggestions? I could use em!

Just got it...

All unpacked

So at this point i added about 20 - 25 lbs of black sand.
Got my newly aquired frags acclimated.

Just put in all my goodies from Reilly's fragtastic frag pack..

First FTS

When i put these in and grabbed the goodie bag to put the next frag down, these had already opened so i ran and grabbed the camera for a quick pic...

After a little frag placement, here is the second FTS

This started opening right away as well, love it when that happens!@

I got a chance to hang out with Kirk last night for a bit, and check out his amazing tank..
On my way out he gifted me a CandyCane, I dont have pics of it yet... but i will soon...

Soooo here is my quick update.

Ohh and, as far as the tank goes...
I have removed the tab between chamber 1 and 2 to help with the flow..
Still working on plan for chamber 2, but of course all Bio Balls are out, I am debating between media trays, or a skimmer for this area..
I know they have 1 or 2 skimmers that will fit in chamber 1, but it is so damn small in there... So i dunno there yet.
and i was looking into a MJ1200 for return flow. I added a RIO600 in chamber 3 with an over the wall return. I will add pics later...

Still debating on the lighting upgrade.. Of course i wanna go with the RapidLED 24LED dimmable kit.. but am not sure yet.. anyone know of any other kits for the BC29?

But as usual, i would love any feedback, good or bad, i would rather be doing something right than, wrong!

Looks good so far keep up the pictures and updates. I finally figured out all the programming and couldn't be happier with the setup. I just added my first fish with pistol tiger shirmp and will try and get some pics up in the next few days.

So got a few updates, i seen rob, at red c, and of course his awesomeness gave me a deal i couldnt resist, on a Flame Angelfish.. and hooked me up with an awesome Hammer, with multi colors, which i am really diggin... the next thing i wanna get is a tiger pistol to pair up with my orange striped goby.. which would be waaaaay sweet. but anyway.. here are some pics.. let me know what you think...

So my angelfish was really active yesterday chasing the molly around like crazy through rocks and stuff, and within an hour, i noticed that the angelfish, has a clear bubble around his right eye... i panicked * of course * as i have never seen this... but after a bit of web surfing... i am still alittle lost. I read about Popeye, but after reading about it on a few different sites it says that the eye should look bulged, and most likely both eyes, and this one does NOT. It just looks like a clear bubble around it. he eats great. isnt hiding or anyting, still acting normal swimming for everyone to see.. I did read that it could be an injury from playing.. I just wanna see if anyone has had this issue, and if there is any recommended treatments, or is the bubble like their natural scab or something...

So any input would be amazing, And of course, Merry Christmas to you all.

I cant really get a good pic, he is really active, moving and stuff.. But it litterly looks like a clear bubble around the eye, those pics make the eye look bulged, and every example of popeye shows the eye look like its popping out... it looks normal, its clear not cloudy, thats whats got me going... hmmmmmmmm i know we had talked about popeye alittle bit... what was the name of the medicine you said you used? i might just grab some and treat it just in case that is it... well prolly wont be able to grab any today as its xmas.. so prolly tomorrow...

and yea the candy cane is doing great.. thx again!

kanamycin..u can put some on your frozen food while it is thawing out...if u dont use frozen food, I believe there are directions for put in the water..but to be effective i strongly suggest u get some on the food...
