Shark Reef is having a sale and a copy has been sent to me (not by Shark Reef) and I've been asked to post it on our website.

We need to think about this.....

We have ten (10) Sponsors
Each Sponsor has sales, usually monthly
When they have sales, PSAS 10% discounts are NOT honored (at least at stores I frequent)
I really don't think Eric meant to have this posted to our website.

When our Sponsors offer PSAS something ''special", such as in the recent offer from Barrier Reef, I see no problem in posting it (as NEWS) as the offer is actually benefiting PSAS.

Thoughts?

Vicki,
Working with sponsors is very important. We do need to post special sales to PSAS members. A sponsor saying this is for PSAS members benefits both PSAS and Sponsor.

I definitely agree in supporting our Sponsors and posting the sale if it is for the benefit of PSAS.

The Shark Reef sale isn't for the benefit of PSAS in any way that I've been made aware of. Have I missed something?

If Shark Reef ask that it be posted. You can post it. But sometimes we need to put as record that we did post it. What I am saying is sometimes LFS just want to see their names to know we represent them. Doing this every so often encourages good relations. In return we hope for their support.

I agree with Ed overall. We should post it to show good gesture if noting else.

Kris,
I am very well aware of your concerns. Living in Windows Update world (which is the largest online service serving 600 million customers), I can see why it will become an overhead very quickly. That said, I think we need some right practices to make our lives easier.

1. We communicate to our sponsors that we will post it on RF as soon as possible (it's a simple post so anyone of us can do it).

2. We need one week notice to post it on the website since website needs to have this.

In addition, I will look into as to whether we can provide them some capability on our website to create the post. This way, they can post at their ease. However, the post won't be available on the website till our webmaster approves it (so that we know what is getting posted).

How does this sound?

IMO this would definately be the best way to set this up. Then the "webmaster" doesn't get tired of a full time job of volunteer work.
