Well yeah I been trying for ages to get my salinity down..but nothing happens!! Does it take an extremely looonng time to go down? Its just below 1.030. I don't know how got high in the first place..most likely my sister trying to help. Atleast she cares :) BUt yeah I been trying to get it down yo. So yeah, I tried put the RO water in when the levels are going down. That did nto do much so I took water out not in much but little amounts and put ro in. That seems to be working...but thats going to take days. Argh. I am just getting down. Two fish dying. And this! Atleast the hermits and snails are alive..dunno about the small red crab.

Andee, if you have a sump that can handle the volume you can drip RO straight into the sump until the levels are where you want them. If not then I would continue removing small quantaties and replacing w/ RO. I would still drip it in though so you dont shock anything. good luck

Hi Andee,
Most likely you SG (specific gravity) went up due to the extra evaporation due to our warmer weather. You need to remember to adjust you SG slowly so that you do not shock any of your critters. I would do water changes very slowly with RODI and that should bring it back down for you. Keep doing regular top offs in the meantime with fresh water, not salt mixed water. Remember slowly is key here.
Hope this helps.

Slow and steady is the way to go. Once you get it dialed in you might wanna think about a top off system
