Looks like they have almost become a meme. Lots if info about how pissed off they are, nothing about where to find one. I'd ask the stores. An LFS owner might be able to make a call down to one of the wholesalers and make ask if your serious.

Google shows at least one person noting they saw one at a LFS, must not be impossible to get, or at least they weren't when that was posted. Foot long, and eats crustaceans. Sound like a great challenge.

what I had read is 3-9 inches with a max of foot long ( so prob wont see 12 inches in captivity) and the sharp spiney teeth are prob to hold on to slippery prey, not that they wouldnt eat ANYTHING that was in front of them beign an ambush predator.

I may set-up a cold water with them in mind!

it was a zoo, and fishbase for the 12inches, so yeah, you are probably closer when captivity is considered...

i wonder what they won't eat....

Lol kevin! I have a one spot fringe head and he is very territorial and holds his own against my rockfish. Coldwater Marine Aquatics can get them. Stu had one for a long time. He loved the guy.they are a bit pricey from what I hear.
